TRUTH ABOUT WATER

Scientists and researchers worldwide have repeatedly demonstrated that long-term consumption of reverse osmosis water (RO) water is bad for your health. Just about, everyone knows that RO systems excel at removing water impurities, similar to distilled water they both take out the natural minerals in the water. Asia and the European countries call it dead water, in some countries it is even banned, few are aware that they also remove the beneficial minerals. The reverse osmosis the process removes 92-99% of beneficial calcium and magnesium.

TRUTH ABOUT RO & DISTILLED WATER

Distillation and demineralization (RO) both are the forms of water purification but through different methods but the water purified through both of the processes may be harmful to health.

In distillation, water undergoes a process where the water is heated above the boiling point and then steam is cooled to produce liquid distilled water. This is the most common method of purification and the end result is a very pure product. This method removes bacteria, organic and inorganic particles, viruses, minerals, etc. from the water. The distillation process also removes salts, metals, and minerals from the water and therefore water becomes dead and lifeless and may be harmful to health due to the reason that it has no minerals which our body requires.

Demineralized water is another means of water purification. Demineralized water is made by passing the water through specially manufactured resins. This process is also known as Reverse Osmosis. Reverse Osmosis is a filtering process that may be effective in areas that do not receive municipally treated water and is commonly used in bottled water facilities. The problem with this process is that dangerous chemicals like pesticides, herbicides, and chlorine are molecularly smaller than water and can pass freely through the filter. Reverse osmosis removes healthy, naturally occurring water minerals.

These minerals not only provide good taste; they also serve a vital function in the body’s system. When stripped of these minerals, water can be unhealthy.

TRUTH ABOUT TAP WATER

A vast majority of India's water supply is contaminated containing high levels of arsenic, fluoride, iron, saline, and other contaminants that seep to the groundwater and make it unfit for drinking. The problem with drinking tap water could be many. Sometimes it is just muddy, discolored water that can be filtered with a simple cartridge filter. Dissolved chemicals like- arsenic and heavy metals can result in permanent deformities. The presence of a high level of chlorine is also a health threat.

“The drinking of chlorinated water has finally been officially linked to an increased incidence of colon cancer. An epidemiologist at Oak Ridge Associated Universities completed a study of colon cancer victims and non-cancer patients and concluded that the drinking of chlorinated water for 15 years or more was conducive to a high rate of colon cancer.”

TRUTH ABOUT SODA & SOFT DRINKS

Many people love to drink a can of soda instead of plain water. The sugar in soda is around 9 teaspoons and makes you put on weight. Further, that much sugar can impede the function of the immune system for at least 12 hours. What about drinking a diet carbonated drink? Many studies have found that artificial sweeteners in the diet carbonated drink are linked to brain tumors. Caffeine consumption can cause dehydration.

The above-mentioned beverages, in the long run, would devastate your body due to mineral depletion. Acids, sugars, and artificial flavors and sweeteners actually shorten your life. There is enough acid in a can of soda to kill you if your body did not contain mechanisms to neutralize it. But, that means our body’s precious minerals, such as calcium, potassium, are being used for neutralizing the bad effect of drinking soda. Do you know that it takes 32 glasses of water to neutralize the acid from one 12 oz carbonated drink or soda?

People on a high protein diet, like consuming meat, require more water, as the water will flush out things like uric acid. Another risk of high protein diets that can be combated with water is that, if you are not eating carbohydrates, your body breaks down fat cells and then produces a build-up of a toxic chemical compound, called ketenes in your blood. When there are too many ketenes in your blood, your body eliminates them in your urine. Eliminating too many ketenes, and also losing too much water through urine, should be compensated by drinking more water, otherwise, dehydration may set in.
